Site Statistics - July 06

Tuesday, August 1. 2006

Today is a good day to give an overview about my current web page statistics. Why today? Because the month July is over and I have this nice graphic below to show you. The number of visitors ddi almost continously increaseover the last months (somehow I doubt that it will increase any further - but that’s what I thought last month, too) Anyway as you can see my page is quite a bugger concerning traffic – a total of more than 6GB of data has been transmitted over the last 31 days (1GB was realted to that "Bar Shootout" Flash game). There was an average of 614 visits per day consuming more than 2000 pages per day. I thinkthese numbers are far too high. I don't know exactly how Webalizer produces these numbers, but my Blogcounter get’s me an average of 100 unique visitors a day.. far more realistic.

Blogcounter did help me to trace a lot of visitors and it seems that the late success of my blog is related to my Audioscrobbler Plugin, which always displays songs I listened to recently. Those song informations get indexed by Google and other search engines - and suddenly people searching for "karmah tom's diner.mp3" get directed to my blog..

User statistics for June '05

Another month has passed, so I can take make a short resume about my homepage. I started to participate at the Petaling Street project at June 14th and I think that can be seen in my site statistics very clearly. My blog got over 100 visitors on most of the days after that date. Due to that increase in the number of visitors, the number of average pageviews has decreased almost by the factor 2 - 33.22 pages/visit where counted, in May 50.87 pages/visit were recorded.

Also due to the increasing quantity of content the blog was also reached through more and more queries at search engines. So the number of visitors from all over the world increased, too.

Since I set up this blog page I started only with a few users, who helped me to set up the site and tested the script. I began advertising the page at the partycipate semester warmup party on April 11th since this day the number has increased to a maximum of 115 visits a day (on April 25th). The maximum data transfer was 62.37MB/day so far. Even including the first two weeks (with only very few visitors) I registered an average of 49 visits/day.

I will be very happy if I can keep the page attractive enough to attract an average of 50 visitors/day (at a rate of 1.8 visits/visitor this would mean 90 visits/day). This is far less then some 3000 visits/day Feki.de registers, but for a private page that should be quite an achievement. So please help and visit my page daily ;-)
