Hot Chip! American chocolate chip cookies.

Saturday, September 20. 2008

Paule’s Weblog has been accused of becoming a site for cooking recipes only. Since I really like reading about her cooking, I want to show some sympathy and do a view articles about cooking and baking, too :-)

In order to make a nice dessert for the summer ending barbecue at paule’s and mac’s place, Doro and me baked some chocolate cookies. In search for a recipe we found this one at chefkoch.de. We picked it, since the readers comments were really positive about the outcome. We are, too :-)

Today, we’ll have a second go, and I will provide you with pictures later.

Hot chocolate – another Food wars episode

Friday, April 14. 2006

It’s a phenomenon, which somehow occurs every skiing holiday – I get up latest, and I’m first at the car. I don’t know what all of my friends are doing with there time from getting up an hour or even longer before departure for the piste. I although don’t have the fairest idea how it is possible to get up that early and then being late for the departure.

Well... Actually it’s is quite clear.. I skipped the breakfast and the socialising at the breakfast table almost every day. But what is the point in being told how poor you are looking at half past nine in the morning? So I don’t miss that socializing to much. (This holiday I wasn’t up for too much socializing at all. I’ve got to say a big sorry to my travel colleagues here. I can be far more entertaining without personal issues on my mind.)

Anyway. Although Tini gave me a kind hint, how to get hot milk in the morning, I did not make it to get a hot chocolate at one single morning. Chocolate vs. Jay 1:0. But then I decided to buy some Ovomaltine, which is not quite chocolate, but quite similar (It’s made of malt ;-)). So I own a supply of 1kg of Ovomaltine now, this fact at least got the score to a draw: 1:1. And imagine – yesterday I even managed to drink a cup of hot Ovomaltine. Jay vs Milk drinks: 2:1.

@Robert: After Christian and my MMS you were concerned, that we wouldn’t drink anything decent in .ch. You are invited to stop by for a cup of Ovomaltine at my place.

@Berit: Since you were so concerned, whether I would get my chocolate or not, you are invited, too.

I don’t want to find my spare battery – I want chocolate!

Wednesday, January 25. 2006

This posting matches the meaningless Blogs and Wikis my friends have opened recently (here is a meaningless video of yesterdays frozen beer btw.). I’m right now sitting in the Wirtschaftspädagogik Examenscolloquium, which is an obligatory seminar if you want to take part in the exam. Right now I feel the urgent need for some sweets – but unluckily all the chocolate I carried around in my bag is gone. The only thing I could retrieve out of the depths of my bag was the spare battery for my mobile (for which I was searching for quite a while). Through a flash of inspiration I searched my jacket, and found at least some cough drops. Those are now getting consumed by Bine and me. The sugar of the sweets keeps our mood on a bearable level, but the green background (see picture on the left) of Dennis’ charts is about to drive me insane. So I’m hoping that he’ll finish his presentation soon – although the discussion is really interesting. Why is such a minor issue distracting me that much?

Anyway - lessons learned today:

  • Those mobile phones guarantee entertainment
  • Never leave the house without chocolate
  • Brief your fellow students with current ergonomic powerpoint design schemes
